Connect to Coach:
The Colleague to Colleague Coaching Programme
The Connect to Coach: The Colleague to Colleague Coaching Programme uses traditional coaching principles and techniques.
Using The ‘PARA’graph Coaching Model, Black Teachers of English will be empowered to share, celebrate and enhance their professional practice. What makes this Coaching Programme unique is that it teaches how to coach each other through the challenges and joys of teaching English as a Black professional.
Here’s how our coaching sessions would take shape:
P - Pick a topic/goal to discuss
A - Actions Then: Think about your past actions/behaviour/perception
R - Reflexivity and Reflection: Others’ perceptions vs. Your perception
A - Actions Now: Think about your future actions/steps/timeline
Academic Coaching
Black female students (18 years +), who, as UCAS (2022) indicate, attend university at around 50%, are welcome to connect PARAGRAPH for support. We have expertise in helping with aspects of academic literacy, transition to university level study and navigating university life – especially if they have been out of education for some time.
ACADEMIC TRANSITION AND PLANNING
At PARAGRAPH we understand the importance of planning for the next phase of one’s education. With our years of experience, we can offer school based students the following services:
Bespoke coaching on successfully moving from KS3 (Year 9) to preparing for the academic demands of GCSE English Language and Literature study.
Preparing students for the leap between GCSE and KS5 (Years 12 and 13) study, including sharpening their study, critical reading and writing skills.
Advising and supporting KS5 English Literature and English Language students to be ready for university seminars, organisation, reading academic papers and thriving in lectures.
